It's part of an attempt to highlight as many Broadway musicals as possible and promises to be a boon to the backers of the show "Rocky," which failed to secure a best musical nomination despite its stunning sets and choreography.

Glad that Chris Barreca's set will get some recognition. Rooting for him. So far he's won Outer Critics Circle and the Drama Desk for Rocky.

The set was impressive, but I don't feel like it gave particular thought to place. I never felt like we were in Philly. Honestly, I felt like the whole show took place under an overpass. It was so dark and moody. And I feel like the second level was hardly used, so not sure why that was even put there.

But I'm curious to see how this all pans out at the Tonys. Wish Audra got to perform.

Yes, this. The scene that was so climactic in the movie, with Rocky running up the art museum steps, was transformed on stage into Rocky running up a random staircase to nowhere. The grandeur of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and its view out over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, which gave such a sense of glorious triumph to the movie scene, was completely omitted from the stage show. They could have at least used a backdrop or projections to convey some of that. The scene definitely lost most of its impact for me on stage compared to the elation that i felt during the movie.

So excited to see ROCKY finally doing something big to promote the show. The advertising for this has been a mixed bag, so hopefully this'll really be a -- knockout.
