Hey everyone! So I'm new to these BroadwayWorld Boards, and I had a question concerning the shows that I see when I visit NYC August 16 or 17 until the 24th.

So as a family we have tickets to Matilda, and I wanted to see a few more shows on my own. The other shows I want to see are If/Then (I actually love the soundtrack, and is Idina still going to be in it?), Gentleman's Guide, Once, Newsies, and Pippin, but I can't see all of them. Should I buy tickets in advance for If/Then and then perhaps rush for some of the other shows or vice versa? I don't want to show up to the box office to be told they're out of rush tickets for the day, but as a high school student who relies on birthday money, this is the only way I can probably see 3+ shows. I would love advice as these will be my first broadway shows!

You can rush any show and get tickets as long as you are there early enough! Lottos though are all left to chance.

Yeah... I was thinking about just buying a ticket to If/Then since it is lottery and rushing for the others, I just didn't know how easy it was to rush

Idina has no announced vacations, so you shouldn't have any issues there.

Rush is EASY, I do it all the time. Just be prepared to get to some of the shows early. Once you can pretty much just show up when the Box office opens.

Here is a site I use for rush/lotto info

There's this awesome program called Tix4Students, which allows you to essentially purchase student rush tickets in advance. Gentleman's Guide and Newsies are on there. I believe Once is as well. I'm on my phone or else I'd post a link, but it should be easy to find with Google.

There may be a $5 membership fee, but in my mind, it'd be well worth it for the peace of mind. I'm a member, and I love it.

Have a great first trip to NYC! Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.
