It's the wild west. Without the all-male dancing.
At a center that helps people with developmental disabilities.
Just unspeakable.
And there 3 shooters in camo masks and rifles. This heinous act was very well planned out.

BBC is saying the shooters fled the scene in black SUV and that they were wearing body armor.

And the gun nuts will just say "If only those kids with developmental disabilities carried guns too, this could have been prevented!"

It seems these cowards targeted an event for county personnel being held in one of the rental halls within this center for people suffering from developmental disabilities. They weren't targeting the patients or personnel that worked for the facility.
Whatever their motives this is just a heinous and senseless act of violence.
How many more people have to die at the hands of these madmen before lawmakers pass stricter gun laws?

I hope there is a special place in Hell for anyone who targets people with disabilities and the truly special people who work with them.

According to reports they weren't targeting people with disabilities or the workers there but county personnel at an event being held in one of the facilities rented halls.
Nevertheless it is a senseless act.

They may not have directly targeted the people with disabilities but imagine the trauma they're experiencing

I can only imagine, they must be frightened. I was just sitting here thinking about the families of the victims and what they must be going through, especially now during the holidays.

Reports are stating that 14 were fatally wounded. This is just madness.
Here's something I find so ridiculous. This is about the Rockefeller Center tree lighting. Or, it could be about any public gathering. The reporters are assuring everyone that there has been "no credible threat." They say this so that people feel safe. WHAT??? Of course there's no threat. If terrorists are going to strike, they will not announce where or when.
Drives me crazy.

Live coverage right now. Police have pulled over a dark SUV, surrounded it, a suspect is down.
Just wait, Jane, until the pundits, politicians and hollyweird start pontificating.

The NY Daily News (that liberal rag) produced a cover this morning with unprecedented bravery. Let's hope others follow suit.

Very sad but not surprised to see this morning our new speaker of the house being interviewed by Gail on the CBS morning show. Once again he was passing the buck to mental illness and showing once again that this country is never going to do something about the guns. He twisted around every question that she and Charlie Rose threw at him. This is never going to end.
Those of us who want this gun madness to end ask for too little when we discuss background checks and gun show loopholes.
Gun ownership isn't some inalienable right granted by God. Remember, the Constitution also included the "right" to own a human being. It's a living document that changes as the needs of a nation change. Think big for change. Don't let the NRA and the extreme right dictate your ability to imagine a better world.

Not all shooters are mentally ill. Some people just happen to be evil. Some have guns, some have an office to hide behind when they do their evil deeds.

The two suspects were not mentally ill. They were radicalized, according to sources. More international terrorism and religious extremism... What a shock!
P.S. No, it will never end.
