Hey, all!

Looking to book BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, but was wondering about the seating for the show. Is Row A the front row in the orchestra? Is the stage high for this one? I've very rarely at the St. James...

Apologies for my absentmindedness. Any insight appreciated.

Thanks!

There is a row in front of A.

The stage is definitely on the high side. In another thread, a short patron in the front row claimed to barely see the show.

So, wait. Row A is the SECOND row of the center section? 'Cause Telecharge doesn't offer specifics.

Telecharge select your own seat has the accurate row layouts. Row BB is the first orchestra center row, Row A is the second row behind that. I have sat in Row BB before and the stage came above my head when seated. That was a LOOONG time ago for Tommy, and not sure how the stage height is set now. I would opt for a seat further back - I sat in Row C of Front Mezz last Saturday and the seat was fine. For a BIG theater, the front mezz seems close to the stage for me.

I sat in row A, which was (at least at the time I bought the ticket, before the show opened) the first row available for sale on Telecharge. So, I remember thinking, who is that dude in my seat?! Until I was sat behind him.

But until they load a show in, the first row for sale in advance is often not the front row when the show actually opens.

I had rush tickets in the front row - I guess that's BB - and the people who paid full price behind me in row 2 (I guess A) were complaining about not being able to see. We all got cushions from coat check but it didn't really help.

I would NOT suggest anything in the first five rows of the orchestra, especially on the side. If I could sit anywhere for Bullets, I'd sit front center mezzanine. Those are GREAT seats for this show.

Avoid the first four seats on the side. I sat on the far side in row J and saw roughly half the stage (for full price). Was able to move several seats toward center at intermission, and that was fine. I'd call the far side seats partially obstructed. They should not be charging full price for them.

Does anyone know what row the Mezz overhangs and/or if Row A has any obstructions? I'm debating either front row Mezz (which I haven't sat in ... in SO long, I've been very lucky in the orchestra), or Row A of the center orchestra.
