So I'm a sucker for Spotify, but I have a hard time finding cast albums. Like all of the "Live at 54 Below" stuff isn't on there. Or Fun Home. Or Here Lies Love, etc. What new albums are on there? Or stuff you all recommend?
I always have the hardest time searching for cast recordings on Spotify. I've found that it's best to search for a song title from the show or a performer (e.g. typing Aladdin yielded nothing for me but typing Courtney Reed, and clicking through her to the album led me to the cast recording).
Same goes for If/Then released today - didn't come up for me by typing If/Then but searched/clicked through Idina Menzel and went down to her "Appears On" section.
Another more archaic way of searching if you're just looking for an idea of what's offered is searching by "Original Cast Recording" "New Broadway Cast" etc.
Some recent stuff I've found and been listening to: -The Bridges of Madison County -If/Then -Rocky -Aladdin -Beautiful: The Carole King Musical -Love's Labour's Lost
It also depends on which record label produced the album. Sh-K-Boom, for example, usually has their albums on Spotify the day of their release. PS Classics, however, takes a long time (if at all).
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
I've noticed that TKTS tweets spotify links lately, and they have a playlist gathering current show's cast recordings. I'll see if I can figure out how to link to that.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

I just searched: Broadway Cast Recording, and everything is posted there. I scrolled for a minute and DAMN they seem to have everything - old AND new AND out-of-print stuff. Looks like Spotify is going to be streaming some Broadway tunes quite a bit now.
