Didn't see this posted anywhere so I thought I'd share. Sorry if this is a repeat!

There will be a lottery for tickets to the Tony Awards tomorrow at the Tonys pop-up shop beginning at 12:30pm. Tickets are $40, maximum of two per person, open only to students. The press release doesn't specify how many tickets are available.

Thank God they're doing this again. I tweeted them the other day asking if it was going to happen and they never got back to me. Hope that this is the year I get to go!

I wonder if it'll be as big a clusterf*ck as it was last night.

Is anyone only playing for 1 ticket? PM me if you'd be willing to give me your second if you won. I will be there. I had my wallet stolen last week and have to wait until the next semester starts to re new my student ID. I'm going to ask if I can just show that I have an active student account on-line and my license if I happened to win.

how does it work? if you're there by 12:30 are you guaranteed to enter? Or is it a line type order where you have to be far enough in the line that you can enter by 1? hopefully that made sense...

To be brief, I love to enter the lottery but I will be working on Long Island. If someone in the New York City area would be able to enter the lottery and wins two tickets but cannot use the second I like many other theater enthusiasts would love to purchase the ticket from you. I could pay a little more for it and treat you to some Tony merchandise. If I were in the city and had 2 tickets I am proud to say that I would do the same and find someone else deserving and give/sell the extra ticket to them. DM if you can make dreams come true. I've seen 17 shows this season!!

Good luck to everyone entering today.

Also adding myself to the +1 list and mimic bstoll1 as well. :)

I practice pay-it-forward often and hoping for a miracle.
Have a great day.

I wasn't there last year, but from the reports, this seemed to be MUCH smoother. After reading about last year I decided to go a little early just to be safe. I got to the Tony shop around 11:30 and there were about 40 people ahead of me. Around 12:30 they came around with raffle tickets that had numbers, sort of like a 50/50 raffle. You had to show your ID and then you received the raffle ticket and a stamp on your hand (signifying you had a ticket). They said to go get a coffee or something and come back. By the time I received my ticket I walked to see how long the line was, it went all the way around the corner to about where the Brooks Atkinson is!!
At 1PM they told everyone to move closer to the corner of 46th and 8th. We were then told they would be lotto-ing off 145 tickets!! About 75% of the way through calling them, we were told to move back to the Tony shop where the remaining numbers were called. There were probably about 300-375 people total. Unfortunately I did not win, but it was still fun!

Most the tickets called were in a certain number range. They really didn't mix the tickets whatsoever. People yelled out to shuffle them... :/

I won! I won last year as well so I'm giving up me tickets to let two other friends go. Did something go wrong last year that I missed? Not that I thought anything went wrong either year but last year at the Helen Hayes there was more room, and I don't think they waited until 12:50 to start collecting names/giving out tickets.

Just curious, which section were the tickets in for this year and last year? Do they group all the people with student tickets together? Again, just wondering, but thanks in advance if you reply.
