Reports are coming in now. She fell earlier this morning and hit her head. Never regained consciousness. She was 88.

Such a huge part of my childhood. So full of life. She will be missed.

Oh. Sadness.

I was just watching her with Doris Day in Lover Come Back yesterday afternoon, and wondering how she was.

Rest in peace.

I wished I'd had an Alice in my life as a kid.

Hell, I wish I had one now.

I was a fan of hers from as far back as Schultzy from "Oh, That Bob".

I love(d) watching BRADY reruns on TV Land and CBS and I found out a lot of the episodes are on Hulu and I just watched one last night. My grandfather had a fall like that and (I believe the same diagnosis) but they were able to remove the blood clots inside with surgery in time... scary. I loved Ann and pray for her family during this difficult time.

Sad to hear. May she rest in peace. I was watching Brady Bunch this afternoon (guilty pleasure). I also saw her in the National Tour of CRAZY FOR YOU. She played Mother.

She won two Emmy Awards for playing Schultzy on The Bob Cummings Show (later rerun and syndicated as Love That Bob). All these years later, she's still Schultzy to me. RIP, old friend.

So sad, and yes, a big part of my childhood.
I cannot believe I never knew she took over for Burnett in "...Mattress"!

Yeah, I know, I think everyone is gay, but do you think Ann was gay? She was never married or romantically linked to anyone.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I believe she was. She however spent many of her later years in a religious community as many of her contemporaries did when dealing with their sexuality.

Funny thing is, as the LBGT community becomes more and more accepted, the number of young woman joining religious orders has declined dramatically!

Sorry for the thread jack.

We love you Ann!

I feel like a part of my childhood passed away.

She was Episcopalian, though, right? Hardly an anti-gay church.

No not an anti-gay church but a place where folks can feel comfortable and not be asked questions.

ETA link; Ann B Davis on The Dating Game. sort of awkward.
