I hope it plays the Little Shubert so it closes in a week! No one should have to pay to see this god awful play again. No one should have to get comps and sit thru the first act before leaving at intermission.
I can think of a good drinking game! Everytime a review uses the word "dated" !

"Honestly Jason Biggs is the male version of Kristen Stewart. Both of them are very lifeless and robotic in every role they do."
No worries. The Scoop role isn't that big of a challenge. It's not that well written.
If Pinkham knows what he's doing, he could get a supporting Tony nom off the Peter role.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Wasn't this a hit in the infamous '88-'89 season? I seem to remember the reviews at the time were to the slightly exhausted tune of "Well...Joan Allen is wonderful and it's better than anything else playing right now."
I gave up on Wasserstein when she started portraying women of a younger (i.e. non-Boomer) generation as vapid ciphers (SISTERS ROSENSWEIG and AN AMERICAN DAUGHTER).
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
I've taught this play, and I think the more I read it and teach it, the less it actually works for me. In terms of feminism, it can't really hold a candle to the complexity and nuance and power of Caryl Churchill's TOP GIRLS. Still, the role of Heidi is a good role for a great actress, and I adore Elisabeth Moss. I haven't seen her stage work, my understanding is that the role in SPEED-THE-PLOW isn't that well-written, so maybe she'll shine more with a better role. Jason Biggs is so...blah. There's always twenty other people I'd rather see play any role I've seen him in, including the role in ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
I don't know much about Bryce Pinkham, but Moss and Biggs are well-cast.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
