Steve Carell, get ready for a busy fall of campaigning.

Even Tatum is getting raves.

The first line of the article tells you all you need to know:

"The Oscars are eight months away still"

It will be forgotten by Oscar time. And if you want to talk fake noses and chins, wait until Into The Woods opens. Johnny Depp and James Corden will both be competing against Carell.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Reading is fundamental.
From the link, "Sony Pictures Classics, which releases the film on Nov. 14, will enter Carell in the lead actor category in the Oscar race."

I remember when Jerby started a thread around this time of year a few years back about the early Oscar buzz for that most recent King Kong remake.
It's a little creepy but it would be worse if you knew what you were talking about.

Another case of Oscar buzz for a performance hidden behind layers of make-up (ie. Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, Meryl Streep, etc.). Is the acting performance winning the Oscar or the make-up transformation? Hmm.

A fake nose didn't get Ben Affleck an Oscar for Hollywoodland. Maybe it only works for the women.

Someone hasn't seen last week's early reviews for Cotillard, Phoenix and Renner in "The Immigrant".

For those who didn't bother to open the link the "Oscar lock" wasn't my opinion or my wording. It was a quote from the headline in Variety, the so-called bible of the film industry.

BWW doesn't like quotation marks in thread titles. Perhaps I gave people too much credit in thinking they would actually read the link on which this thread is based.

And The Immigrant got mixed reviews. 74 on metacritic, which I believe is a C-.

Carrell glances at the camera and gives an uneasy smile better than anyone else.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.
