Curious if there will be a movie soundtrack for Jersey Boys. With it being a month away from the movie release, I figured we would have heard something by now.
Yes, for ALL the obvious reasons, the film adaptation of JERSEY BOYS will indeed have an original motion picture soundtrack. I believe it is slated for release on Tuesday June 17, 2014... a few days before the film's release: Friday June 20, 2014.
"Music From Motion Picture" is usually code for "Highlights." Hopefully they won't go the route of LES MIZ and release a highlights album now, but the full version months and months down the line.
The Amazon listing now has it has 'Music From the Motion Picture and Broadway Show'. I'm not liking this. It would be a waste of $ for those of us familiar with the Broadway show and already have the cast album.
The tracklist, and cover, is now out for the "Jersey Boys" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack:
1. Prelude 2. December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night) 3. My Mother’s Eyes 4. I Can’t Give You Anything But Love – John Lloyd Young 5. Sunday Kind of Love – John Lloyd Young 6. Moody’s Mood for Love 7. Cry For Me 8. Sherry 9. Big Girls Don’t Cry 10. Walk Like A Man 11. My Boyfriend’s Back 12. My Eyes Adored You 13. Dawn (Go Away) 14. Big Man In Town 15. Beggin’ 16. Medley: Stay / Let’s Hang On! / Opus 17 (Don’t You Worry ‘Bout Me) / Bye Bye Baby 17. C’mon Marianne 18. Can’t Take My Eyes Off You 19. Working My Way Back To You 20. Fallen Angel 21. Who Loves You 22. Closing Credits 23. Sherry 24. Dawn (Go Away) 25. Rag Doll
Additionally, according to the cover, some of the tracks will be "The Four Seasons" originals (I'm guessing the last 3 tracks), and from the Broadway Cast Recording.
Also, according to some European listings, there will be a "Special Edition" Soundtrack as well.
It just seems so strange that they would release it with songs from the original cast recording. I can see adding the Four Seasons originals as bonus, but why songs from the original Broadway cast?
