A friend of mine is moving from Flatonia, TX to Kingston upon Hull in England next month. She has arranged to have an eight hour lay over in NYC so we can hang out for a bit. Forgoing any delays she is supposed to land at JFK at 2:55pm on Saturday, June 7 and leave at 10:55pm. Taking out the hour plus it takes for the AirTrain to get to Penn Station and then back (and then going through security again) that gives us sixish hours. The timing doesn't really allow us a show unless I can squeeze in something that's 90 minutes like After Midnight.

I've already checked the Birdland and Metropolitan Room sites. Any other suggestions you could throw my way on things to do would be great.

Leslie Uggams is doing an 8:30 show at 54 Below, but not sure that will work out with your timing.

I saw that but I don't know if it'll work. I figure she has to be back on the Aitrain by at least 9pm.

MOMA has Gaugin, the Met has a huge fashion thing going on. Both museums have cafes.
