Kinky Boots or Bullets?

Okay, so my NYC Trip in June is pretty much laid out, Saturday "Of Mice and Men" at 2PM and then a Sunday matinee of "Macbeth" at Park Avenue Armory (if I can get rush tickets), but I'm still trying really hard to decide on an Saturday evening show. At first I considered Kinky Boots, as I still haven't seen it and would like to see Billy Porter in the role, but the awesome cast of Bullets has me eyeing it as well. I have not yet seen the movie, and I realize the show has gotten pretty mixed reviews, but a lot of folks do seem to be enjoying it. Suggestions?

I would see Kinky Boots- Hands down in my opinion.

I should probably also throw in that I am looking for the cheapest way possible to see each show, meaning SRO for Kinky and Rush for Bullets. I'm not even sure if they still offer Standing Room at Kinky being that the show isn't totally selling out anymore.

Not sure about SRO at Kinky, but it is safe to say that if it is nearly selling out yet, the Saturday night show should be.

I'm not certain you'll find anyone, even people who enjoyed Bullets, who would recommend it over Kinky Boots, though.

Now you've raised a separate issue. How often to you visit NYC? Kinky Boots will be here longer than Bullets, although catching Billy Porter in Kinky would trump missing Bullets entirely IMHO.

For sure Kinky Boots. As another option, Kinky Boots has a lottery that isn't too difficult to win.

^Really? I've heard it was near impossible.

And haterobics, I usually visit only once or twice a year, which is why I want to make sure I get the best experience possible. Would love to come more often, but I live 6 hours away and am not exactly in the 1%.

I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed Bullets much more than Kinky Boots. It was easily my favorite thing I have seen since Matilda.

I really enjoyed both shows and it is still Kinky by a mile in this situation. Seeing Billy Porter is more important than not missing Bullets all together.

Billy Porter did absolutely nothing for me. He marked his way through that performance like crazy the afternoon I was there.
