Well, yet again congratulations to Beautiful for topping their previous record-setting grosses over at the Sondheim! Geez, they're cleaning up over there!
Wow! Gentlemen's Guide isn't doing as good as one would think even though it went up from last week, one would have thought it would gross more with all the Tony Noms. Mothers an Sons, Bridges, Velocity, and Violet are looking very very sketchy, I can understand why some of them are closing!
Sure the gross matters for Violet. Perhaps Roundabout won't do similar types of shows in the future if they see the grosses this low. They don't matter in terms of whether a show breaks even or not because that is not the goal of non-profit groups.

It may have helped ticket sales, but that doesn't mean people bought tickets to see it within the first five days of the nominations.
Beltingbaritone, I know, right? There are actors out there that would die to play Jack Kelly, and would do it right. He was great initially, but then he signed for a second year and it went downhill. I would imagine he will be leaving in September, when his contract is up. I get that he's really young, but it's really unacceptable. It affects the patron's enjoyment of the entire thing.
Bridges grosses have been making me sad for so long..... Cinderella needs new blood, perhaps?
Pippin and Once won't be done in the summer because first off both shows recouped so they have some time on the great white day and pippin just released a new block of tickets through January. Once the real tourist season starts come Memorial day weekend they will be making good money again!
I would say for Once another 1 1/2 - 2 years left. Pippin 2-3 1/2 years left.

Pippin another 3.5 years? That is very generous and so long to predict.
I think Fran WAS out last week. Finally some data to support the claim that it is indeed Fran who has the weight of the box office on her shoulders and not Carly (I recall there was some silly defensiveness from Carly fans or something who couldn't see this).
I'm really curious to know how If/Then is going to survive from early June because at the moment their advance drops right off and their numbers this week indicate some patches of empty seats were available.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
