Has anyone tried for Sunday matinee after the Tonys? Would 9am-ish still be a good time, or do you think it is better to get there even earlier? Thank you!

@brdway411 - it's only frickin easy if you can stand up all that time, have all that time to sit and wait for the tickets and can then stand through the show. LOL.
But you are exactly right that it is the way to go to get tickets to this, because it's extremely hard.

Has anybody done SRO since the Tony's? Doing it next Thursday and trying to figure out how early I have to get there. Thanks!

Yesterday at 5, right before the lotto, the line for SRO was not long at all. You probably would've had a decent shot if you got in line then. However, at 5:30 it doubled in size. I really think this is a "by day" basis. It changes.

I walked by the SRO line twice yesterday. At 10:30, there were 2 people, and at 1:30, there were 8 people. Meanwhile, viola13 was there the previous Wednesday, and the line was filled up by noon. It seems that the day-to-day variation is pretty large.

I rushed yesterday. We were third in line and arrived around 10:15, with the first person getting there at 10. Around noon or so someone came out and told us there would only be 7 tickets, so lots of people behind us left. When the lottery started and people realized people on the SRO line might win, they started lining up behind us. Then someone else came out and told us there would actually only be 5 spots. My friend and I got the last 2 tickets, but some of the people behind us stayed on the line and ended up getting in via the cancellation tickets.

Honestly, I don't think the box office should tell people how many tickets there are going to be unless they're positive the producers aren't going to change it on them. The change from 7 to 5 led to some very disappointed people, and rightfully so. There just has to be a better system for all of this.

Yeah I mean I can't complain because I got tickets, but after sitting on line all day and making friends with the people behind us I was pretty upset for them.

Just to clarify.
If I were to rush for the 10 PM Saturday show and arrive first at, say, noon, would I be bumped back in line if people there for the 7 PM show are unable to get tickets or would I remain first and those who were unable to get 7 PM tickets go behind me?

Seeing as there is not that much time between shows, I am sort of confused about how this one SRO line for two shows works.

Thanks.

You would retain your place in line and let people behind you that want SRO for the 7pm show to go ahead of you and buy tickets. When the House Manager comes out to count off for the 7pm show inform her that you're waiting for 10pm and you'll be fine.

jaxel - you will get bumped back in line. When I did standing room for the 10pm a few weeks ago, the cut off for tickets for the 7pm show divided through a group of 6 and they decided to wait for the later show so they could all go together - they became the front of the 10pm line.

I have mixed feelings about that.

similar thing happened to me at BOM SRO years ago. No big deal for me, I was that much closer to the center where I wanted to be anyway.

I would be cool with that if i was the first in line for the 10 and was still able to get tickets. But if all those people got in front of me, and i ended up not getting tickets (Even though i was one of the first to arrive and was first in line for the 10 show and those people came in got in line after me), i would be kinda upset. LOL. But I get why they do it that way though. i just have mixed feelings about it.

Anyone willing to pair up to do the SRO line one weekend? The earliest I could get to the theatre would be around noon but I have no problem sitting there the rest of the day. Message me

I apologize if this has already been answered, but if I am going to try standing room for a Sunday 3pm show, what is a general ballpark of when I would need to be at the theatre. Would 7:30am be sufficient?

I've tried the lottery a few times and had no luck. It's better to just do the standing-room line. If you get there early enough, your odds are better of getting a ticket. The tricky thing is that the number of available spots vary from day to day. The maximum is 20, but as a previous poster notes, it could be as few as 5. There was a time when you could get to the Belasco by 3 p.m. and score standing-room. Not anymore. You better be there before noon. The other day, the first person in line says he got there at 7 a.m.

That same day, someone in the box office told those in line (around noon) that there might be only 14 tickets or even fewer. I actually think that's a courteous thing for the box office to do; they're not obligated to reveal anything. But if you get there, and it looks like you're gonna be No. 20, there's no need to waste your whole day waiting.

Again, there are no guarantees. But as the saying goes, 'The early bird gets the worm.' And for the price ($29), you can't beat it. And the show is well worth the wait.

Possibly going to do standing room only on a Wednesday or Thursday in the next month. How are these days for either lotto or SRO? And what would be a god time to show up for SRO?

This may have already been answered....but when you win a Lottery ticket, what type of seat do you get? Do you win an SRO spot?

I'm pretty sure I've written about my experience in this thread but...

The time to get there definitely depends on the day. I went on a Thursday and the day before I checked the line after rushing Bullets. There were only 2 people there that just got there. When I went the next day, I went at 7:30AM just to check on the line and there were already four people there, so I just stayed in line. I'm sure it's going to be earlier now that NPH's run is going to be ending in the next month.

As for lotto, I won and was the last name called and got a box seat. It was an obstructed view (SRO definitely had a better view) but it wasn't bad because NPH is almost always in the center and you can see when he goes in the audience perfectly. The only time you couldn't see is when he goes in the back (but my friend and I just hung over and could see). It was a fine view for the show. I do know the tickets are scattered around though with a few being in the orchestra. I think they start with the best seats, so if you are one of the first ones called you are getting the best ones.

First person in line today was 5am. I got there for 4pm after work, there were 30 people already there for standing room for 7pm. I kid you not. I waited because I wanted cancellation and I knew people would give up. There were 11 spots for standing room, but they opened up more because they originally said 13 I think, but then people were pissed so they opened the spots up, which was really nice of them. Got a cancellation and was 5th row centre. Box office said the ticket was 400 dollars originally (stupid jacked up premium) I got it for 162. So even if you don't get SRO, and are willing to fork out full price, you could get AMAZING seats if you just hang on till just before showtime; I literally got my ticket at 6:59!

^^ I was there today. They gave away 16 standing room tickets for the matinee. The first person to get into tonight's show was there at 7:30am (my party arrived at 8am). As stated, they originally said they had 13 tickets for tonight, then the guy came out and said 10 (those three people left), and then came out and said they pushed for three more standing room tickets (I felt really bad as the other group had already left, though I was safe with tickets 3 and 4). Five people in the SRO line paid for cancellation tickets for the matinee. Lottery was insane: no one on the standing room line won for either show.

I did standing room on Sunday the 13th, hoping for the matinee. My girlfriend and I got there around 8 in the morning (first people got there at 3:30am!!), and we were 9th and 10th in, but ticket numbers 17 and 18 because of people getting two tickets. They came out about an hour before the matinee and told us there were only 7 tickets available. We waited and there were 14 tickets available for the night show so we got in.

The view was great, and it was an incredible experience. I highly recommend waiting, but get there earlier than you think you need to.
