Just finished making my chicken matzo ball soup and taking it to my niece's house tomorrow night since she's hosting the sedar! My house smells so good right now!
Does no one make a good matzah kugel anymore? My whole family is out of town so I'll be having a fab seder consisting of Matzah Ball soup for 1 and a Matzah Kugel...
My parents are taking care of the seder so I only need to worry about cooking for myself. I have a pot of matzah ball soup on the stove right now. I also just made myself a big bowl of quinoa salad to take to work for lunch. When I get the chance I will make an apple raisin kugel. ...and those are pretty much the things that I live off of for the week.
I guess it's the overwhelming weight of tradition and sentiment that leads me to eat and actually enjoy those scary Pesach fruit slices.
But eat--and enjoy--them I do. I'm a kid again back in my Grandmother's dining room.
I also love a good raisin/cinnamon kugel. Matzoh brie I eat year-round--it's a staple in my house--and I will occasionally make a savory kugel. But desert kugel is Passover only.
You think, what do you want?
You think, make a decision...
