"All our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them." -- Walt Disney
We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
I appreciate the "ignore" feature. I use it sparingly, but I use it.
At first, when it was apparent that I was missing something, it was hard not clicking on the "reply to this message" button to read what was being blocked, but soon I realized that my "ignore" choices were good ones.
As I am trying to be a kinder more considerate online person, I will refrain from adding my list here. However I will type that there aren't many people I deem sufficiently rude to make my list: only 7. Those who made my list, I found, offered very little in the way of anything worth reading, and a lot that was best ignored.
ARTc3 formerly ARTc. Actually been a poster since 2004. My name isn't Art. Drop the "3" and say the signature and you'll understand.
I have a few people blocked, but I see no reason to dredge up their names. But I don't miss a single one of them.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
26 people…just wish I didn't happen to be snooping around these boards when they just happened to have left a reply.
Butters, go buy World of Warcraft, install it on your computer, and join the online sensation before we all murder you.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
I have about 3 or 4 people on my block list...but only those who post spam messages.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I didn't block anyone either... I just pay attention to some posters more than others and if I really don't want to read someone's posts, I just don't.
Not faulting anyone for doing otherwise but it seems to work for me. I try to avoid confrontations..and usually succeed (but not always). The thing is if someone is saying crap about something or someone or me, I would rather know about it.
This board is a mix. It used to be the "nice" board and the other was the "mean one," but that has flipped in the last couple of years.
Many posters are very knowledgable and smart. There is interesting and lively disagreement, which is great, and and a delightful dollop of ascerbic wit.
But some posters say stuff that's just untrue, malign people by name, or act out a pathetic bitchiness that they can't in real life under cover of anonymity. It's tempting to block them, but how would they get called out?
Considering the fact that the "Ignore" feature was added to alleviate a lot of the drama and fighting, a thread that asks everyone to list who they have blocked is counterproductive and just asking for more drama. I'm happy to see that everyone who has responded has had the sense to list numbers rather than specific names. Sorry if that sounds self-righteous and preachy, but just my 2 cents on the topic.
Keep your friends close but your enemies closer - I don't block anyone. I saw a lot of bitching back and forth once on a thread so I just scanned through the posts to see if anything posted was useful then looked elsewhere. Like Kathy said, I'd rather know than not know.
