I've narrowed down my top two preferred schools for a BFA in Music Theatre to Carnegie Mellon and University of Michigan, and I was wondering, what are the differences between the two courses? Will one prepare me more for the industry than the other? Is one more rounded than the other? Also I'm an international student so I won't be able to visit the campus before auditions in 2015.

They are both amazing schhols with amazing programs. Carnegie Mellon is very acting based, UMich is more about all three disciplines. Both put emphasis on academics.

Also, both schools are HIGHLY, HIGHLY competitive. I'm talking about a .05% chance of getting accepted, so please make sure to audition for other programs. In the end it really doesn't matter where specifically you get training as long as you apply yourself and go somewhere with quality staff. Name is nothing more than a few connections, which you can build yourself anyway if you take initiative.
