Hello all! I am new to this forum and am needing some direction. My 5 yr old daughter has been driving me crazy for almost a year about auditioning for a musical. Most of the auditions for local children's theater are for older kids, but I promised my little one that she could audition for next show that allowed 5 yr olds. She turned 5 in Dec., and low and behold, I found out there is an upcoming audition that includes 5 yr olds. I asked my daughter if she still wants to audition and, sure enough, she does. (I still find it so odd, as she is normally quite timid around people she doesn't know). For the audition, she has to sing 2-3 Broadway songs from any musical(1 versus and 1 chorus). Is there a place online where I can find a stripped down instrumental version of the songs? Any advice about a child auditioning would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tazber. She is auditioning for a local Best of Broadway production. I have mixed emotions about letting her audition. I want to encourage her to follow her dreams, but at the ripe old age of 5, I need to make sure that she is old enough to handle the rejection if she doesn't make it.
