I just read on playbill.com that Florence Henderson is celebrating 80th birthday on 'The Talk' tomorrow, but someone is missing...
"Original cast members Henderson (Carol Brady), Christopher Knight (Peter Brady), Mike Lookinland (Bobby Brady), Susan Olsen (Cindy Brady) and Barry Williams (Greg Brady) will appear. Ann B. Davis (Alice Nelson) and Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) will deliver special taped birthday messages."
That person turns out to be Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady). I'm guessing she and Eve are still not going to resolve their differences. As long as one of them takes part in a reunion type special the other will not.
Quote:
"McCormick, who played the TV family’s oldest sister Marcia Brady, revealed in a tell-all book in 2007 how she had a steamy on-set sexual relationship with Plumb, who played her younger sister Jan. The book, titled “Here’s the Story,” shocked fans of the 1970s hit show when McCormick detailed how a small crush blossomed into a romantic and physically intimate relationship between the two “sisters.” Sources told RadarOnline that “the bottom line is that they didn’t want to be on the same show and the appearance was canceled because of it.” The source added that “some people blame Maureen and some people blame Eve.”
She actually made that joke on a late-night talk show. It is mentioned at 6:11 of this video.
That's exactly what it was...a lame joke on a late night talk show. Eve Plumb needs to grow a sense of humor or build a big ole bridge and get over it.
Wait, was the OP adding their own commentary by claiming there was a behind-the-scenes lesbian fling or was that in the New York Post?! Either way, it never happened. I did a double take when I read that, seeing as I used to be a huge Brady Bunch fan.
Just as Carlos did, I immediately thought of the joke she made. But that's it. That article (or the OP) is flat out wrong.
Yes. There is really a feud because Eve Plumb fails to have a sense of humor about the whole thing. She takes herself way too seriously. She needs to get over herself.
McCormick's joke was all in fun, with all the stories that have been going on about (various) cast members from the show being attracted or fooling around with each other McCormick joked that she and Plumb did so as well. Plumb got wind of the joke, got her panties in a twist and refused to have anything whatsoever to do with McCormick. She's a mess.
But that justification is fairly recent. Eve Plumb has been disassociating herself from the Brady Bunch for decades now. She's just never been comfortable being remembered as Jan.

Uh huh, she's "disassociated" herself so much that she gamely played Jan in the last known significant reunion, "The Bradys" television series. Show her the money and she's there.
Besides, disassociating yourself from the show and flat out not talking to a former cast mate are two different things.
But in the end it is yet another reason why she needs to get over herself. What does she really want to be remembered for? "Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway"?
^ Exactly! She and Maureen should put their pettiness aside and celebrate Florence Henderson's 80th Birthday. The lady is a legend and they both should should consider themselves lucky to have had the opportunity to have worked with her.
In Plumb's defense at least she will be their via a taped message but McCormick won't be participating at all. That's just a shame.
Those kids were lucky to have worked with Henderson, Reed and Ann B. Davis.
To their everlasting credit, Eve Plumb and Susan Olsen have never whored themselves out to reality television. Eve Plumb has also never cashed in on writing a tell-all book.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

The last time all surviving cast-members were together was in 2004 during the 'The Brady Bunch 35th Anniversary Reunion Special: Still Brady after All These Years'.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
Screw the Brady's reunion, she hosted Country Kitchen on The Nashville Network for much longer and it was one of my favorite Saturday morning guilty pleasures of the late 80's and early 90's. She could have cooked something, Williams and Ree could have told some jokes, Ralph Emery or Crook and Chase could have stopped by and told some stories. I guarantee you, it would be a lot more fun than a 43rd Brady Bunch reunion show.

How awkward that they talked about Maureen not wanting to participate in the reunion ... and then the "nose toss" at the end. LOL
"Oh, my nose!"
EDIT: I'm wondering about all this backstory we've discussed. It just doesn't add up. If Eve was the one upset by what Maureen had joked about (the faux lesbian stuff), then why did Eve bother to appear remotely on screen?
And why was Maureen the one who didn't want to participate in the reunion? It sounds like SHE is the one mad at someone else ... Florence? It's her birthday bash. Eve wasn't even there.
The reasoning and the reactions don't add up.

^ I still think that as long as one of them does an appearance, the other one won't. One time everyone except Plumb appeared at the TV Land Awards when Ann B. Davis got a special award. That was in 2007.
