so I was just listening to the cast recording after not listening to it for a while and I remembered just how much I enjoyed the show when I saw it on Broadway... the score isn't going to change the face of musical theater but it's fun and infectious and I had a great time seeing it... anyone else like it?

It's actually one of my favorite shows... in a guilty pleasure sort of way. I know it's really not a great show, but it's so cheesy that it's charming. The songs are catchy, the jokes are corny, the costumes were gaudy... and it was just a total delight to sit though! Saw it three times and would go see it again in a heart beat. Really underrated show.

It's at the top of my guilty pleasures cast album list. Yes the songs are catchy, and the lyrics are clever. It's a well-written score altogether.

I saw the national tour on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. I went back that night with my mom. One of my all time favorite guilty pleasure shows. Such a fun score, and the book has some touching moments. THIS is how an 80's musical should be done. Flashdance should take a good long and hard look at this one and follow its example.
