I will be in NYC next weekend and was wondering what musical might be available at TKTS on Jan 26th. I paid full price for tickets to see "Pippin" on 1/25 so I wanted to keep cost down for 2nd show. I understand this will limit my choices so I thought maybe shows like "Motown" and "Once" might be available . Note ** I have already seen shows like "Wicked", "Jersey Boys", "Lion King","Chicago" and "Newsies". Thanks for any suggestions.

You're best bet is to download the TKTS app and look and see whats available on there to get an idea. I can not recommend Matilda highly enough, and it is usually listed!

Wow, did not think "Matilda" would be there !! Does the TKTS at the South St. Seaport still sell tickets to shows on Sat for a Sunday performance? Thought if I could make it there it might be good idea especially if something like "Matilda" is on the board.

Yes, both the TKTS booths in Brooklyn and at South St. Seaport sell Sunday matinee tickets on Saturday. As Peron suggested, download the TKTS app and you can see what they are selling at each location real time.

After Midnight is usually on TKTS, and I enjoyed it a lot. Duke Ellington music, and amazing dancing. Also, Beautiful, the Carole King musical, is wonderful.

I can't believe someone would recommend Matilda...it has to be a joke.

The only joke about Matilda is that it lost Best Score.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
