I always wanted to pursue a career as a theatre actor. My local youth theatre is putting on Guys And Dolls, and I want to audition for the role of Nathan Detroit. My problem is that the kids at my local youth theatre are very skilled. They have a certain professionalism that even most adult community theatre actors don't have.

My question is, what are qualities that separate professional theatre actors from normal community theatre actors.

I used to feel that way too. My advice is to not go for the big parts right away. Maybe audition for a supporting role. It will give you a chance to dip your feet in the water and get used to it. After that, if you feel like you are ready for this then try for bigger parts.

Well, this is a situation with every aspiring candidate. However, what you need to do is sharpen your skills by performing in local youth theatre and once you get well versed with it, fight for acting in normal community theatre.
