Hi. I'm hoping some of you will offer opinions/recommendations for a 3rd show. Coming to NYC 19th-23rd on an impromptu trip. Planning to seeing three shows. So far we've decided on Sleep No More (a second time because we loved it so much the first time), and we're pretty sold on Buyer & Cellar for our second show. As for the third show....would love to see Kinky Boots or Matilda, but both appear sold out except for premium seats at $300+ per seat, which I'm unwilling to pay. So I've narrowed the third slot down to Fun Home or Pippin. Opinions?

Fun Home is extraordinary. Everything about it is beautiful and the score is outstanding. It's ending in January, and it might never be on Broadway. I would see it because you might not get a chance to again.

Pippin is wonderful as well, but it will be running a lot longer than Fun Home.

Matilda is worth every dollar of premium seats, but I understand on principal so, both choices are wonderful. If you like the story of Pippin this cast is AMAZING and should not be missed.

Fun Home-It will still be here and it's such a beautiful show. (And who knows when or where or even if it will come around again.) Also, since you have plays or non-musical events scheduled, a musical would round things out a bit.

Pippin. See Patina Miller while you can. She's amazing.

Definitely go see "Pippin."

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I just saw Sleep No More the other week, great you're going back a second time, you tend to discover and see a lot more on repeat visits for Punchdrunk's shows!

I'm saying to everyone that if you can only see one show on Broadway right now, go see 'Pippin'. Utterly magical theatrical experience.

Everything in life...is only for now.

See Pippin, no question. I've seen them all.

I've seen Pippin twice, and while it is good, Matilda is extraordinary. Don't miss it.

I would say "Glass Menagerie". Probably one the finest things I've seen in years.

Both Matilda and Kinky Boots have a lottery..if you win, you can get really cheap seats. The drawing is two hours before the show so you should get there at least 10 minutes before....

If there is more than one of you on your trip, one person can stand at KB and one at Matilda= upping your odds of winning at least one of them. I have won the KB lottery once and the Matilda lottery twice. You might want to consider that. KB's tickets are only $37 and Matilda's are only $27..and the seats are pretty good.

Pippin does not have a lottery - it sells a number of inexpensive seats when the box office opens. The box office usually opens at 10 expect for Sunday - I have heard of people standing on line at 6 am to get tickets. In the summer not bad, in the winter..not for me. If you were here during the week, the competition for tickets is less.

All those shows are worth the effort - my personal fav is KB - but everyone has their own choice. Good luck.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the responses. So little time and so many worthy shows. For theatre lovers like us, it's truly excruciating! We are foodies, so we were going to splurge on a pricey meal, but now we're seriously considering bagging the expensive meal and opting to squeeze in a 4th show. Fun Home will be our third choice, so now it's between Pippin, Kinky, and Matilda for that fourth slot.

Fine choices, but easy choices.

Broaden your horizons. See the Knights in No Man's Land or in Godot. Or, if you've never seen Rylance, see 12th Night or Richard III.

You'll thank me later.

Chad-Fourth slot should be Kinky or Pippin. (I agree that seeing one of the Rylance plays (Twelfth Night preferably) would be good.)

I applaud your choice with Fun Home. I hope you love it.
