Hello! I'm looking for musicals for an all girls high school for next season. We have an incredibly advanced performing arts department in both performing and technical theatre, and have our own fully professional theater. Recently we've done all female versions of 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown' and 'The Wiz'. This coming season we're looking for ideally another show that can be done all female, however we're willing to consider having up to two male parts. We are also a Catholic school, so the content of the show can't be absurdly obscene (we can cut to a certain extent). Our current student body is fairly well-rounded in terms of singing, acting, and dancing but our strength right now is definitely acting. My personal favorite for next year is Peter Pan, however it looks like we might not be able to have a full-time technical director so we're not sure that we want to attempt such a show. Usually the technical side of our shows are heavily student run. If you have any ideas on shows we could do, please list them here. We've gotten good at converting male roles to female roles so unless they're a love interest, it's usually not a problem. The issue right now is that a lot of the shows I would like us to do were done too recently, such as:
Thoroughly Modern Millie
42nd Street
Sweet Charity
A Chorus Line
If you have any suggestions, let me know. Thank you!

Hi Sam! I too go to a Catholic all-girls high school, so I certainly understand where you're coming from. We've done The Sound of Music, Legally Blonde, Jerry's Girls, and this year, Anything Goes. I can ask my teachers about the other musicals my school has done and I'll certainly get back to you! :)
