"And for any who say that Kinky Boots is a better show than Matilda: I throughly believe that their intellectual capacity for theater is low."

I personally feel that the person who can't allow people to have his/her own opinions without intellectually putting them down has an extremely low capacity for anything..including theater.

And like Dramamama said..can't we be allowed to enjoy what we like without making it a competition? Geez... I have been to both more than once and I think each show has different strengths and different weaknesses.

To the original poster....go enjoy what you want to see when you want to see it. Period.

Cooltu, don't mind stevie3, he's been an ignoretroll with an agenda since joining the board, and his post history speaks for itself.

On topic, you shouldn't feel any sense of embarrassment at the show, even without a child. I can't even recall seeing any children in the theater when we saw it back in late April. Even though the show features children, neither the book nor the music are childish, and at times it is quite dark (including references to murder and other death). I probably would not feel comfortable taking a young child to it.

So good to see everyone's response on going alone. It's great going with friends, especially those you know that love theatre, but some shows you just want to enjoy alone. In cases you just can't find someone to go with, you can always chat with someone next to you! Never had a bad experience with it.
