WICKED Lottery on Tour

Hello all! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the amount of participation for the WICKED lottery on tour. I'm sure it varies from city to city, but can anyone who has tried the lottery on tour tell me how many people usually show up and how the tour lottery differs from the Broadway lottery? Thanks a lot!

I haven't been around to see how many people have done the lottery for the tour in Chicago, but here are the rules of the lottery:

Throughout the run of the show on each performance day, people can pick up entry forms at the Block Thirty Seven information booth during business hours up until 2 hours prior to the performance. Entry forms are placed into the WICKED hat, one entry per person. Names will be drawn two hours before each performance for twenty orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This drawing is available only in-person at Block Thirty Seven, with a limit of two tickets per person. Drawing participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets. After the twenty tickets are chosen for $25 each, an additional name will be drawn for a pair of tickets to that performance courtesy of Block Thirty Seven.

In my experience, the demand for lotto has still been high, no matter what city I have tried in. I have tried in Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston and Miami among others. I've never seen less than 100 people.

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking specifically for Nashville next spring. Wasn't sure on the lottery turnout for the tour stops.

Go earlier in the run of the show if possible. Also, if there is a weekday matinee, you are very likely to get in.

Good idea! That's what I was thinking. Its first week is my spring break from college and they have a Thursday matinee, but that week is also Metro public schools' spring break. I still might give it a shot!

Depends on the crowd 

names taken 2.5 pre show. Pulled 2 hours before. $25. Takes place in the academy of music lobby. 

Try early in the run.

Anybody know how bad the lottery has been? Decided to splurge on full price tickets for last night and want to see the show again(Especially since I went the night Jessica Vosk didn't stage door)

I can't tell you about the most recent cities, but I work at a theater that had the tour a while back, and the lottery gets pretty crowded. Your best bet is probably weekdays (Wednesdays and Thursdays seemed quietest at our theater). Except for the Thursday matinee, the matinees are no better. Sunday matinees seemed slightly less crowded, presumably because the church-and-brunch crowd wasn't there. On light days, I'd say there was around 50 or so people there. On the crowded ones, probably closer to a hundred. Good luck!

I've been part of a team of people running the lottery since the tour got to Philly and the number varies between around 60ish-80ish to one night (a Thursday night) there was a little over a 100 people. Sometimes there is lottery loser tickets for $42 dollars, but that's on a show by a show basis and if it is available an announcement is made after the lottery ends.
