Jesus Christ...another "Special Edition" OBCR? Are they going to re-package and re-release it every anniversary? The vinyl sounds like a cool item though.
If they're going to release a special edition CD, the only thing that would make it special enough to buy would be if they filled the big glaringly gaping flaw of the original and release the full score, including Wicked Witch of the East. Releasing the same incomplete score of the original and adding random pop singer renditions of those songs as extras? No thank you.
What makes the event so special. Won't it just be another performance they will probably make a speech at the end or something. I can't see them coming out at the end and announcing a film just yet or anything too exciting.
Happened to randomly see a 10th Anniversary commercial of the show on the Golf Channel.
I'm not really sure what these "9 bonus tracks" could be. "Wicked Witch of the East", "Which Way is the Party", and a few English Willemijn tracks maybe?
I have noticed this rather old article about the possible Wicked director candidates have started to resurface lately. It got me thinking though as Rob Marshall was one of the candidates to direct Wicked and Into the Woods is being produced by Marc Platt and thematically is a fairytale piece featuring an anamorphic animal, songs and a Witch could n't that possibly land Rob the job and kick this into production?
I am sure Marc Platt has probably thought this a few times whilst making Into the Woods and Universal are dying to do it after the success of Les Miserables.
It was rumoured at Comic Con last year but was never confirmed. Stephen Schwartz or Marc Platt was asked about it at the time and said that it was news to him.
