Julie Klausner rode a citibike better.
What a colossal piece of crap! It'll probably run for years.

I wish Julie Klausner was starring in this! At least she's a redhead!

I don't think this is an official still from the film. The BWW article seems to indicate it's a leaked photo from the location, not an actual shot from the movie.
I also love BWW reporting: "our very first look at Quvenzhane Wallis as Annie has arrived today, even though the film itself may be many "Tomorrow"s away, to quote the classic Charles Strouse/Martin Charnin score's most famous anthem." Jesus.

^ That's good if that's all this is. I couldn't imagine Annie being able to get a Citi Bike, as you need money to use one.

Its stupid money that is being thrown into this project. Do we need an updated version of Annie? And why change her ethnicity? It makes me wonder if they are keeping all the songs from the show. And if they are not, are new songs being added that are written by Jay Z? Are we to expect all the songs to be remixed like Hard Knock Life (which only worked, in my opinion, in Austin Powers).

Who cares about her race? Let's care about the fact this isn't ANNIE. Most of the songs will be gone as well as the characters. It's a brief outline of what the Annie musical was.

This is an adaptation and spinoff of the entire Annie franchise, which the stage musical is the flagship of, but which also includes the comic strip, the original film which contained more comic-inspired material, etc.

I frankly don't see how this is going to work.

Even though the original songs don't have much of a period feel, the story has an innocence and optimism and humor and outlook of a 1930s period piece. If you put that into today's world, it will look forced and probably clueless, showing a total lack of awareness of anything current.

If you take that sensibility away from the story, how is it even "Annie" anymore? It's just a story about some orphan who gets adopted by a rich guy.

Maybe this is just part of montage where Grace takes her to experience NYC.
