Not a show I normally watch, but I really wanted to see Valerie Harper. What a very enjoyable night! (Although what's with so many people with dance experience??)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Tonight's my first time ever watching DANCING WITH THE STARS and it's exactly what I expected the show to be...but worse. I don't get the show's appeal and I am so embarassed by it. I love reality TV. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? is one of my favorite must-see shows. DANCING WITH THE STARS, however, is unexciting and painful to watch. The most exciting thing about the series is actually the announcement of show will be on the new season.
All this being said, I am tuning in because of Valerie Harper. We all love Rhoda, but after her recent diagnosis and recovery, I think her story is so inspiring and deserving of us tuning into the program.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

So far, there were only really 3 duds, in my opinion. Will be interesting to see how the show goes on and the new format for voting people off. Like there isn't a results show this time around.
I hate that I find Snooki annoying now. She was pretty good. Not sure of a favorite. But, I think we'll probably end up with Corbin Bleu and Amber Riley going to the end or very close. They were obviously good, but it's so predictable now.

Though I don't expect them to last for long I found both Bills to be fun and charming.

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
That was ridiculous. I still remember that scene from the show though.

So, I think I am giving up on this season now. Seriously, what BS is this? Who actually is voting for Bill Engvall? I think the show is rigged or the fanbase is way off this season. Like I really didn't think Bill would make it past week 1 or 2.

Since Elizabeth was technically the best dancer besides Corbin and she was voted off, I'm done. This is a dancing competition is it not? I have no interested in watching "entertainers" like Bill, Jack, Amber and Leah arse around. WTF. Corbin has this in the bag now. None of those other buffoons can dance.

It really is becoming based on the fan base and judging scores don't mean as much. If this was going to be the case, why even bother having them dance at all? If Bill deserves to stay in, he needs to quit the silliness and take it seriously. No more bouncing and disco arm rolls, but try and actually grow as a dancer.
That being said, I'm glad my Corbin in still in, but now fear he's out soon. Last nights trio dance was PERFECTION.
It now becomes a popularity contest. I don't believe Corbin has the fan base that Bill, Amber, Jack or even Leah has. At this point of the competition they really should have the judges score count. They're the professionals. I'll continue calling in for Corbin because I adore his dancing and over all showmanship.

Yeah, I don't hate Corbin. And I had a feeling Amber would be popular based on Glee. But, I guess I just underestimated the popularity of Bill. Or again, some of the voting is being screwed up. I have no idea if he would have gone home the week they decide nobody would go or if they did that to make it look like he wasn't safe, but not let us know who really would have.

Between Nicole, Brant, and now Elizabeth, it's just like - are people even paying attention to the actual dancing? Those three danced circles around Leah and Bill, and yet they go home? I just do not understand whatsoever is going on over there, but I'm pulling for Corbin, Jack, and Amber because the trio of them have been giving consistent and strong performances each week, while the other two somehow slip through the cracks. I pray next week either Leah or Bill go home, because the previously named trio should be the final three.
"Anybody that goes to the theater, I think we’re all misfits, so we ended up on stage or in the audience.” --- Patti LuPone.
When looking at actual technique Corbin and Elizabeth were delivering. Leah, Jack and Bill dance very roughshod-not refined and missing a lot of steps. Amber, is great, but she's pretty sloppy-I mean she know how to deliver the sass and give a great performance, but her footwork is not tight.

I always suspected the final three would be Corbin, Amber and Bill. I really enjoy Amber although last week she was weak due to an injury. Bill is getting the country vote who are hardcore voters. And he comes off as a nice guy.
I never was too excited by Elizabeth. Her bug eyes are creepy and she only recently started dancing with any confidence, imo.
This show has never simply been about dancing.

I have not really been so interested in the show this year since I now work from 8:30 to 5:30 PM every day and two hour shows suddenly seem way too long for me. But here is what Tom has to say about this season. He misses the results shows.
