Do you think The Word of Your Body from Spring Awakening would be too risky/risque to do for a high school theatre competition?

I've never seen it been done and it wasn't on the duet musical list from last year, which is a plus because it's not overdone but has it not been done because it isn't very appropriate? If we toned down the blocking do you think we'd be fine?

Personally, I think it's fine. There's no swearing, and really not sexually explicit. Like, at all...

But, if it's a matter of not being able to perform, or something of the like, then you might want to contact them and ask, especially if you live in a more conservative area. :)

I can tell you from my experience working with NCTC is that judges like seeing the envelope pushed just a little. Obviously they don't want outright explicit material, but performing something that most high schools find too "risque" and performing it well can earn you some bonus points.

If you do it tastefully, then no.
So Lauren Bacall me, anything goes! *wink*
