Appropriate songs for middle school?

My little sister is heading to middle school and I'd like to recommend to the choir director (who's usually paid heed to recommendations before so that's not the issue) some Broadway songs for the choir to do. They have to be group numbers and the song can't be to baby-ish (e.g. Do Re Mi, It's A Hard Knock Life etc.) but has to be 6th grade appropriate even if the show it's from isn't and it has to not lose its meaning without dancing because this choir just uses risers and isn't a glee club. For example, the only one I can think of is Love Heals, a cut song from Rent.

Are there any others that would suit my requirements?

Almost every show has songs a junior high choir can perform. Difficulty shouldn't be a problem, because I'm willing to bet many of the kids can't carry a tune for their life, so them having fun is more important. 13, Seussical, The Music Man, Once on This Island, Matilda, Disney musicals (stage or animated), etc. all have songs that would be fun for students, are appropriate, and have readily available sheet music. :)

I hope your sister enjoys middle school! (personally I don't understand how anyone could, but I hope nonetheless>.<)

I'd also suggest something from Newsies like Seize the Day or Once and for All
