Extreme MT audition process - HELP

Hi!

I am going to audition for the no.1 musical theater university in Sweden and in need of help. The competition is extremely tough; about 900 people audition, and only 8 people are accepted. Some years they've only accepted 5!

I auditioned last year, and didn't even make the first cut, so you might understand how nervous I am this year.
For the audition, we're suppose to prepare five songs and two monologues.
My former teachers recommended that we choose songs in these categories;

Character (funny or other)
Contemporary
Rock/Pop
Legit voice
Sondheim

I have a few ideas of witch songs I could do, but I don't know if it's the right choice for me, that's why I could really use some input.
These are my suggestions;

Character
Old fashioned love-story (Wild party)
I'm not pregnant (Katie Thompson)

Contemporary
Do it alone (Parade)
Quiet (Matilda)
Astonishing (Little women)
I miss the mountains (Next to normal)
What would you do (Cabaret)
Aldrig (Kristina från Duvemåla)

Rock/Pop
Pulled (Adams family)

Legit voice
Something from My fair lady maybe?

Sondheim
Green finch and linnet bird (Sweeney Todd)
Losing my mind (Follies)

Seem like good audition songs? Do you have any suggestions? I could really use some tips! Keep in mind that these categories were just suggestions from my teachers, nothing's set in stone.

Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Some of those songs should only be performed by young singers, and some of them should not be attempted by young singers. As someone recently said in another thread, you want to show them parts you could play well. That brings me to my second point: I understand if you want to show versatility, but few people are able to be complete masters in all those different kinds of songs. You probably know which types of songs you are better at, and you should play to your greatest strengths rather than attempting to do something that you're not as good at. Good luck!

I don't mind at all. I am 24 years old. The thing is that nobody gets accepted right out of high school. I know for a fact that none of the present first year students is younger than 25.

"Some of those songs should only be performed by young singers, and some of them should not be attempted by young singers."

Yes in it's original form on a stage in front of an audience that of course is ideal. But when it comes to auditioning for schools in Sweden, it's more important how the song is interpreted, and how I choose to portray it. A song may be sung a an old woman in a show, but if I can relate to the words she's singing and make it work for a girl my own age, then it doesn't matter!

And about the different categories of songs, yes of course we all have our strengths and weaknesses. But the school really want to see that we can be as versatile as possible. The show business in Sweden is very small compared to Broadway or West end. And if we want to work, we have to be prepared to be versatile.
Maybe I don't need to do all categories at the audition, but at least some of them are necessary.

So, to get back to my question I realize I should rephrase it.

Anyone out there who have experience auditioning for a university of this caliber? What songs did you sing? Did you get in or not? How had you interpreted your choices?
