Job Shadow Opportunities?#1

Is anyone aware of any theatres/productions that offer job shadow opportunities (preferably Stage Management, but I'm open to others) for college students? I just recently job shadowed with "The Lion King" and immensely enjoyed myself. Either Broadway or Off-Broadway.
"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." Are you located in New York?
If so, there's a few Broadway shows that allow shadowing for stage management. Your best bet is writing stage management a letter with a little about yourself and asking for the opportunity to come shadow. I know that Wicked, Mamma Mia and Jersey Boys will let you. Some newer shows it's harder unless you know the PSM.
Hope this helps!

I'm not sure where you are in the country (or the world) but Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam Connecticut offers a really cool shadowing program. It's called an Observership and you get to live on the Goodspeed campus for a month and watch as they build a musical from the ground up. Here's the website if you want to check it out http://www.goodspeed.org/pages/observership
