How long do you think Gavin Creel would be contracted to play Elder Price on Broadway? Can someone take a guess? I won't be mad if you end up being wrong I'm asking because I might be making a trip to NYC in May and I'm hoping he'll still be playing. I saw him twice in Toronto and I can't get enough!! Peter Mitchell was AMAZING as McKinley too.

Caught the 2nd National Tour in Orlando this past Friday. 3rd time seeing the show, 1st time seeing this company. I agree with previous posters, this cast is AMAZING. I mean really across the board unbelievable. And of course, the Orlando audiences love it!

Side note, tonight is Denee Benton's last performance with the company. According to the Naples program, Candace Quarrels, a sophomore MT Major at Belmont, will be joining the company as Nabulungi. Excited to see this company again in Tampa in a few weeks!

I enjoyed the 2NT this evening significantly more than when I saw the show on Broadway. Cody Jamison Strand was OUTSTANDING as Cunningham. Larsen was fine, but his voice was extremely nasal during I Believe. Denee Benton, a local gal, was also very good.

Overall, this is a fantastic cast that's nailing the jokes and having a great deal of fun. My only quibble would be the size of the orchestra. They sounded rather tinny this evening.

Any word on the who the new Cunningham is on the 1NT? I still haven't heard, but I know a new stand by joined the Broadway cast a week or two ago, so perhaps it was one old stand bys?

Per Twitter, I guess tonight was also Benton's last performance with 2NT. and to add to the size of the orchestra, every company has 9 players, it was the cast recording that gives it a much fuller sound.

Thank you! I'm not at all surprised by his move up. I've heard many people say he seems very promising and how his younger look adds to the show. Is Dana Joel Nicholson the only standby now on the tour? They typically seem to have 2, since the 4 worldwide companies all seem to feed from each other.

If we're mentioning company members transfering, I'd love to see Alexia Khadime's Nabulungi on Broadway.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's just Dana as standby and Michael Buchanan as understudy.

Both Chad and Dana filled in on second national at one point, but both are first national standbys and were standby Cunninghams in Philadelphia. Chad (and Ryan Bondy) are temporary coverage for a few weeks until they announce more permanent casting.

Saw the show tonight with Gavin and Christopher both on tonight. I was a little surprised at how underwhelmed I was by them.

Gavin's acting was amazing! He made strong choices and really had his beats down, but his voice didn't fill the theatre like Andrew or Nic did. It just seemed weak and not too pleasant. I did do SRO for it, so maybe the acoustics just aren't that great back there. Although the rest of the cast sounded fine.

Well, except Christopher, he definitely struggled with the high notes the whole night. I wasn't a fan of his acting. He didn't look like he was having any fun with the part. I thought his choices were weak and his stakes seemed really low.

Grey Henson was pretty good, not the best singing voice but he was fun to watch.

Nikki Daniels was a delight, I wish she would have gone a little deeper into Sal Tlay Ka Siti. Her Hasa Digga Eebowai reprise was heartbreaking though.

The ensemble was amazing, I watched them half the time. Lewis Cleale looks like he's still having a blast in the show, he's been in it so long you'd think he'd be bored out of his mind, and if he is, it doesn't show.

BOM is still going strong. Jokes are still just as funny.

I saw Gavin in San Francisco twice and again on Broadway. His voice always seemed overwhelmed by the orchestra. It's not just you or just him tonight.

Totally with you on Lewis Cleale. THAT is how to perform in a long-running show.

I'm still surprised at the amount of original cast members remain in the show after nearly 4 years(7 total - only Spangler & Wilson left the show at some point). They include: Lewis Cleale*, John Eric Parker*, Maia Nkenge Wilson, Tommar Wilson*, Nick Spangler, Graham Bowen* & Tyson Jennette*.
