Woolf? was the best dramatic offering I saw this season -- and I saw the original, and most revivals ever since. If they choose to eliminate it from the contenders, a GREAT injustice will have been done to everyone involved. There must be some way, should the Tony committee determine that an infraction had been incurred, that the producers could be penalized. But not all the fine team that made this production possible. Talk about politics! Trip to Bountiful's numbers haven't been all that great, surely an indicator of general lack of zeal to see it. I have nothing against Bountiful, btw. But fair is fair and Woolf? itself shouldn't be penalized because of its producers misguided actions.
Every season I have a favorite show. This year it was Woolf. I've seen so many productions, and this was in a class of its own. Just perfect.
Then Tony noms come, and it's time to play Odd Man Outed. All cast members except Madison Dirks get a nod.
And now it's freakin' Woolf?Gate. An illegal brochure, edited reviews and cast comments could result in the show and its performers losing their Tony noms?
