Just wondering if anyone thinks that PIPPIN will switch over to a lottery. MATILDA has done it because of their early lines. It seems like the lines have been pretty crazy lately. I tried on Wed at 7:10 and there were already about 40 people in line. I imagine it will only get worse after the Tonys.

Not likely. The line is good publicity. They won't sell SRO until the show sells out, why would they want to pay for a lottery staff.

Also, if they do switch to lottery then they should follow the BOM model and offer standing room one hour before the curtain.

Matilda's Rush policy was a joke and there was no real way to enforce it (one show every 30 days per ID). The lottery makes more sense for them.

Pippin is general rush. You snooze you lose. Get there early. There are a ton of people (myself included) who have said on here multiple times, get there no later than 8 am.

EDIT. If people are not smart enough to understand there are only about 20 tickets for each show, Let them wait in line. frees up space on another line.

Also is Kinky Going to switch, Just because a show is a hit, why should they switch to lottery, I don't follow the logic.

Second EDIT!!
ONCE which is on the same street and won a Tony never switched to Lottery, they just raised their rush prices. Again I do not follow the logic of switching from rush to lottery.

I don't think they ever actually enforced the one ticket every 30 days thing.
I know Jersey Boys has the same thing written in there policy. They also stated you needed government ID as well as student ID.

That's great if you don't follow the logic but it is actually something that happens. MATILDA switched from rush to lottery and ANNIE did the opposite. These are two very recent examples so I'm not talking about some antiquated notion.

Your superiority as "owner" of the PIPPIN rush line is very irksome. It might shock you to know that you are not the be-all and end-all of this line. Don't give me that "you snooze, you lose" sh!t because it may surprise you to know that I can read which is why I went at 7:10 not expecting the line to be 40 people deep. It didn't really bother me that much because I've already seen the show so it was just water off a duck's back.

And gchris, I would like to leave you with these parting words...

A. I have never claimed to be the "OWNER" of the line. That was your assumption.
B. You were the one that brought up the topic of changing the line to Lottery. I merely asked why would they switch.
C. Annie dropped their lottery because no one showed up for it. they were paying people to run it and it was not needed.
D. Matilda's Rush was poor design from the start. Student rush 1 ID per 30 day and impossible to enforce. So they switched.
E. I find your animated graphic things at the bottom of your post irksome.
F. I don't recall getting the notice that this is Clyde's Pippin Rush Line BWW post. So it open for EVERYONE to Post on. and Since I spend 2 to 3 days a week on the line I think that makes me a fair and informed member of the thread.
G. I have a life, A very good one. A wonderful boyfriend and a great job, which is why I can go to the show so much. It's my time and my money!
H. The 'you snooze, you lose' was not directed at anyone in particular, but I am flattered the you think I have nothing better to do than talk about you.
SO if you would like to get back on topic instead of attacking me for bringing up some valid points on why Pippin would switch to lotto over the line please feel free. OTHERWISE>>>>f((((off!

insert animated giff. of me raising my middle finger!!!

I'm not making an assumption about that when you say things like "Rush seats are awesome. Some are better than others but I am not giving out that info. Sorry."

And I'm pretty sure that people who have enjoyable, fulfilling lives don't have to go around bemoaning that fact every chance they get. How wonderful that you have a great job but it seems to me that you were unemployed just a short while ago so don't get ahead of yourself.

Also your points were not valid because I negated them with current examples. Gifs aren't that hard to find so maybe if you can take a break from living in the PIPPIN rush line you can find one yourself.

Is it bad that I secretly hope to rush Pippin the same day that gchris11 does (which seems likely), so I can witness his/her behavior in public?

Look for Pippin ticket prices to rise next week. Both, rush and regular. Also, rumor has it that the rush seats may change.

I was there yesterday, too. In contrast to previous posts, when the show sold out a few minutes after 10am someone from the box office ran outside to try to find some people who had been turned away so that they could get SRO tickets right away.

They should simply do what Once has done in the past when a show was sold-out when the box office opens for rush. Just sell SRO right after and let everyone in line know. Pippin only has 15 SRO spots, so I'm sure they'd be able to sell all of them on the spot.
A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.

AS of right now they are the last 2 seats on both side of the orchestra in rows b,c,d, and the rear boxes.

No longer have a choice, You get what the box office spits out. I will say the boxes are not choice seating. Get there early and get orchestra seat. unless you like no leg room.

If you find yourself in a box seat, is it okay if you stand during the show? I had to do that at Kinky Boots, my seat was so bad. And I heard the boxes at the Music Box are worse!

What could they possibly change the seat locations to? I don't think they could get any worse.

For SRO, are you restricted to one ticket per person? Or could you get two?

I know the general rush is one per person.

There is talk about making the boxes full price and then making the 8 seats in row A part of rush, that would still give them 20 seats. Again this is only talk I am hearing from the staff.

I don't get the appeal of selling a box seat at full price.
I was at TKTS the other night and Pippin was up for 20%
They quoted me a box at $116.50
Which as we know boxes are more often then not a partial view seat.
So why sell partial view at full price?
Doesn't make sense
Even if they sold the boxes for $89 or something a bit cheaper
