Switching Things Up: Advice?

I have a couple very important auditions coming up. They're not for specific musicals but for talent shows.
A lot of the singers, if they sing a show tune at all, will be singing standards like Defying Gravity, Don't Rain On My Parade, On My Own etc. (or at least that's what I've gleaned from previous years). Because of this, and the fact that my gender is the only thing keeping me from being classified as a tenor, I've decided to sing show tunes traditionally sung by guys. Of course, I'd need to change a few lines in some of them to not give the impression that I'm a lesbian (not that that's in any way shape or form a bad thing).

Here are my ideas (with line changes noted in parentheses)

Boho Days from Tick...Tick...Boom ( "dog and kid and wife" changed to "quiet married life")

Stars from Les Miserables

Empty Chairs At Empty Tables from Les Miserables

I Want To Break Free from We Will Rock You

Santa Fe from Newsies ("guy" changed to "girl" in the line "Where does it say a guy can't catch a break?")

There Once Was A Pirate from Spring Awakening

Being Alive from Company

I need 3 songs because I want to do a different song for each of the 3 talent shows. Does anybody have any feedback on my ideas/other ideas for show tunes sung by a man that could work for a girl?
