So Hunchback was just a rumor, or are they doing both?

Seems to me they are being smart about getting this right. A pre-Broadway stint with enough time before Broadway gives them time to work out anything thats wrong.

Still no announcement for the new creative team member?

I'm excited for this! This season hasn't been to great for original musicals I think, although stronger than usual for revivals. What other musicals are opening next season besides Prince of Broadway and I'm assuming Tuck Everlasting?

^Have they announced casting for Houdini? Is Hugh Jackman still in the mix for the lead?

This gives Disney more than a year for an advertising campaign, I bet pre-sales will be huge on this thing!

Why is the Toronto Star calling it a world premiere? It's already been done at the Muny, the Tuacahn and the 5th Avenue.

Just because there are new songs and a new set, it doesn't mean it's the world premiere. Aida on Broadway was not the world premiere when it was already Elaborate Lives in Atlanta.

Not keen on the logo but I'm sure it isn't the final design and will change closer to the Toronto premiere.

I hope this is good. I love the film, but have heard dreadful things about the various stage adaptions. Hopefully, Disney will get their magic back. I'd love for ALADDIN to be the next BEAUTY AND THE BEAST or LION KING.

It also says that they have totally rewritten the book.

I noticed the Facebook page was first set up in October of last year, so that shows how long they've been prepping this for announcement.

I'm sure it won't be long till ensemble members are cast and bigger roles start leaking out.

I mean, if they can get Jonathan Freeman for Jafar, I think that is a given.

I hate to type cast him but Patrick Page as Jafar seems more of a direction they'll go. Isn't Freeman in his 60's?
