No. But that's why (like I've said for a long time now) they need to reintroduce dubbing, so that we can open up casting of movie musicals to beyond the 10-15 people who are ALWAYS mentioned.

Sandra Bullock would be divine. I'd just hate to have dubbing brought back into movie musicals again. It always took me right out of the moment even as a young child. The King and I was probably where it was done best. My Fair Lady gets on my nerves every time Audrey opens her mouth to sing and Marni's pitch perfect soprano comes out. It's just silly.

The Baker's Wife isn't the hardest role in the world to sing. Maybe they could get Sandra a little training and see how far she'd be able to go. A lot of her songs could be mostly spoken.

Well without dubbing every musical will star the exact same people

Trust me, the Baker's Wife will not be Sandra Bullock. A very big movie star (meaning bankable) is currently in negotiations for the part. If the details can be worked out she will be announced later this month.

I don't understand the whole "Anna Kendrick as Cinderella" thing. Have I missed some soprano showing from her? Not trying to sound bitchy, just genuinely curious if I have missed that.

She's just one of the 10 hollywood actors who can sing so her name will be thrown in for any musical just like the others.

If they start making more movie musicals they won't always star the same ten people because then we will get our own modern singing movie stars like Barbra, Judy, Marylin, Gene, and Astaire were back in the golden age.

Everyone seemed to like Samantha Barks in Les Mis. 10 to 1 she gets a good amount of work out of that movie.

I love when people post vague rumors like that.

I heard from my friend's cousin who works with the producer's dog walker a BIGGER name is up for Little Red. But my cousin's friend's pilates instructor also knows the director and said it was another name!

Exactly! To me Sam will be the first one of this stars. We also saw a glimpse of this with Zac Efron after HSM, if he returns to musicals he has all the right elements to become a very big movie musicals star.

I don't know if he can sing or not, but I think he learns Maksim Chmerkovskiy would do a good job as Cinderella's Prince or Rapunzel's Prince. Derek Hough also still looks young enough to play Jack and he has singing experience. Both of these guys want to pursue acting. Derek's sister Julianne could probably take on one of the roles in this film as well.

If we're going to just use the cast of Pitch Perfect, can we have Rebel Wilson as the Baker's Wife?

Rebel Wilson actually reminds me a little bit of Beverly Rudd who played Red Riding Hood in Regnt's Park Open Air Theatre production. She would be good in that role.

Richard H. Blake actually has a little bit of film and television experience. He would actually be perfect as one of the Princes. Hadley Fraser and Ramin Karimloo would be great choices also. I think Disney is probably looking for actors over 30 to play the Princes.

Rebel Wilson would be so good as Red Riding Hood! I'm not sure what ages they are looking at though, they might want to make her a lot younger, but Wilson (who is in her mid 20s I believe) would be hilarious in every way.
Melissa McCarthy just had a huge success with IDENTITY THIEF and BRIDESMAIDS, they really need to be talking to her. If they are going for a much younger actress who can pull off the humor and bring in an audience, then it's hard to look past Jennifer Lawrence who could bring exactly the right kind of humor to the proceedings. Now it depends on how they are interpreting the curse. Some people think that it'd be unbelievable to have someone that young worrying so much about not having children, and I think "Moments in the Woods" works a lot better with an actress whom the audience would believe has settled into a certain kind of life. We'll see.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

I personally don't mind a younger Baker and Baker's Wife, but 22 is a BIT of a stretch to be desperate/worried for a child. As wonderful as Jennifer Lawrence is...
