I literally laughed out loud during the Ivy phone call at the end. Just... good job, show.
I thought the Julia number was kinda cute, but I have a weird undying devotion to Debra Messing so I'm biased.
I actually hate Hit List more than anything right now.
As terrible as this show is, I really am sorry it's canceled. I'll miss you!

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Ummm...since when is a pregnancy test included in routine bloodwork? Judging by her reaction to the phone call, she did not seem to have asked for a pregnancy test. Oh, Smash...such a confused interpretation of how the real world works...
Well, it can be. I recall having pregnancy tests every month due to a medication I was on. So I didn't mind that tidbit so much because it's not impossible.
How do you know? It didn't sound like her.

According to that Hit List synopsis, isn't Nina supposed to humiliate "the Diva" at the VMAs? That didn't look very humiliating to me.
Also, of COURSE the writers would punish Ivy by putting a baby in her uterus. Between that and their treatment of Daisy, just ugh.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Yes, but I've learned not to trust publicity about who is singing and who is not. Is there other footage of Messing singing that well? I couldn't find anything convincing.

1. Toolulah has said good-bye like three times. Girl, just go.
2. i thought Cousin Debbie's singing sounded exactly like her. Maybe (probably?) it was auto-tuned. For what it's worth, it's credited to her on the album.
3. I think a pregnancy test would be included in a physical for someone sexually active? I dunno, though. I'm infertile. And a dude.
4. Mara Davi's storyline is gross and embarrassing.
5. All of this was just too much. I don't know if it's that some faces don't belong on tv or if just these specific faces don't belong on tv.
I’m really confused about Jimmy being back in Hit List. I know he came in and did that weird concerty version last week (that they were gonna make people who bought tickets to an actual performance endure before Jimmy commanded them to get up to do the show), but did I just miss that he’s officially back in the show? This one could very well be on me, but I thought Sam was now Jesse? Also, if Sam is now not Jesse, shouldn't that force him into another pissy rage, since he more or less got “screwed” in the same way he got “screwed” in Bombshell?
If the show you are seeing you is texting and tweeting you or whatever it’s doing to you, doesn't that mean that your phone is gonna be registering all the other phone calls and texts you’d be getting at that time? Or did they invent some kind of Hit List app that only allows you to get communication from the show during the show, and blocks all your other incoming messages?
I know we’ll never see the resolution, but Ivy should totally have an abortion. Or maybe the baby will just go the way of Cousin Debbie’s phantom baby from the first season finale.

Maybe it IS Cousin Debbie's baby. Since everything else is backwards in Smashland, maybe it's a revese limbo sort of thing.
And Yes, ignore Talulah -- he only wanted us to love Kat and couldn't handle the fact that we all thought she sucked.

Yup....thought it was tacky, and I can't believe the audience would be so f'n excited by the gimmick. (Or that they were freakishly suprised -- after all, they would have had to have given their numbers and been told TO feel free to text during the show.
The episode was terrible -- Jimmy had his job back, Leslie Odom had a brand new role, Ana and Karen were buddies again, the doc calling that late in the day. (And yes, it's not uncommon for a sexually active woman to be given a pg test during a physical -- if that's what it was) What a mess.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Every week I think it's not possible for me to like Karen less. And every week she lowers the bar, right on cue.
I want Ivy to get whatever will make her happy -- her mother's love and support, two nice shiny Tonys, Derek giving up his slutty ways to be the bestest baby daddy ever. I expect she'll get the first, a chance to say "it's just an honor being nominated" and a shocked look from Derek before he runs for the West End.
The episode felt like the writers had just gotten the word that the show was definitely being cancelled so they threw in everything including Kyle's kitchen sink.

They really don't think highly of what little audience they do have -- they must think we are stupid just for tuning in, and therefore we get what we deserve.

Here's a fun tidbit about the Karen/Daisy duet from last night. It was originally filmed for an earlier episode during the off-Broadway production with Karen and Ana singing the song. For various reasons the song was cut from the episode and refilmed for this episode with Daisy.
The lyrics in these Hit List songs are just awful. They don't tell a story at all. And that staging! I wonder what that number was supposed to look like off-Broadway. They certainly didn't have those rotating staircases at MTW. When did they have time to redesign the set, rehearse, etc?
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco.
Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

Last nights episode
again Tom overacting ..bouncing when he was playing the piano-the guy is just bad..eyebrows are always dancing
Jimmy- that little bad acting sniffle when he went into his old apartment was so laughable and again his anger with Julia in Times sq...perched lips -rushed delivery -
and didnt he get fired....confused
Kat and the dance off-- I am still laughing at that--song sucks and the dance --where they doing the sprinkler arm dance at one time lol and that Derek screwed a dancer plot....did that already guys
Then Ana --or AAAAHhhhna or as Jeremy says ONA goes up to Ivy at the bar ... come on that was believable....and back to bitch face Ivy whore who is shocked people think and talk about her whoredome Love Meg -hate Ivy..she is a bitch
I did think Debra Messings song was nice -except every time they cut to Tom he is doing his eyebrow acting dance....
And the cherry on top is academy award winning actress Miss Houston she is like a cartoon character -her line readings are crazy amateurish...I don't get it
This show had so much potential but I think the writers had no clue and the talent that works on stage -overacting -posing-grimacing doesn't really work with a camera 2 inches from your face...
I will miss KAT AND MEG SINGING....
AND THE TONY GOES TO ....black screen and we never know
ala the Sopranos ending....because nothing about this show

I think I'm most interested to see what kind of an "Andrew Lloyd Webber" Marc Shaiman might execute with the songs he's written for SMASH. How might they show up in future shows he will write?
It's a pretty big chunk of interesting (albeit disconnected) music he's written for a project that can now be considered as "failed". A lot of what he wrote has (unfortunately) already been exposed, and is popular in the public's eyes. Should he let all those pieces just lie unused? Or should he "recycle", like ALW?
