"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I was going to post that, but you beat me to it, The Josh. But I'll post the picture anyway.

I vote for David Tennant.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

One could say that this photo appears doctored, but then they'd be accused of making a bad pun. Updated On: 10/5/12 at 09:06 PM

Benedict Cumberbatch's head looks HUGE compared to his body.

Assassins? What production would be transferring??

I wouldn't put it past Roundabout to do a few weeks of If There Is... as long as Jake could transfer, but why would they rent a theater when they have the Sondheim sitting empty for now?

And from my source at the Public, Into the Woods is all but stone cold dead.

The post mentioned concerts so I'm going with Oliva Newton John and John Travolta to promote their holiday album. (totally a joke)

ASSASSINS concert. Wishful thinking.

Dogfight would all be die on Broadway. It would be smart for Roundabout or someone to pick it up, but it wouldn't be a commercial project.

Dogfight would be great for 2nd stage to reboot in the Helen Hayes once they take control of the theatre.

Yes, indeed.
Something is going INTO the Broadhurst... but you won't be home before dark if you go see it.

How about David Tennant, Matt Smith and Christopher Eccleston in the Steve Martin, Martin Short and Chevy Chase roles in a new Marc Shaiman musical of "Three Amigos?"

Better idea- Tennant and Eccleston as Lonny and Dennis in Rock of Ages.

I'd like to see a future for DOGFIGHT, but they really have a lot of work to do on the show before they should even think about transferring it anywhere. It has a lot of potential, but the 2ST production didn't tap in to much of that, in my opinion. Hopefully they go the NEXT TO NORMAL route and take some time to reevaluate, reassess, retool, and then take it from there.
