"Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Paltrow is negotiating to collaborate on a theatrical production based on The Go-Go's. Working with several prospective co-producers, including Donovan Leitch and Rick Ferrari, Paltrow would base the musical on the life and music of the seminal 1980s all-girl group that includes Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock and Paula Jean Brown. The L.A.-based band, which has been touring all summer, was behind such early-'80s hits as "Vacation," "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed." They were the first all-female band that played their own instruments to top the Billboard charts."

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I'm not sure about this but like Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons there was a lot of behind the scenes drama during their early years.

But will they be able to find somebody who's as adorably dorky of a dancer as Belinda?

Totally right, bobs3. The punk years would be such better material. Everyone knows what happened after 1981 when Our Lips Are Sealed came out, why not concentrate on when they were the fat punk rockers who couldn't play their instruments, and to make it big they kicked out their most punk member, Margo Go.
