Decorating the fake tree with awful garland while listening to Andy Williams on 8-track.

That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Thank you, Mr. Williams, for making the holidays so wonderful.

My brother and his wife saw him perform a million times in Branson. He'd stopped performing recently but they would still go to his theatre. He's going to be crushed.

His Christmas specials were wonderful.

I wish we had some of this today in our culture. I wish they would release his old Christmas specials on DVD/Blu-Ray. Elegant and classy.SOmething we lack nowadays,IMO.

As a child I requested his Reflections LP as a Christmas present, when I first began to make music choices for myself.

But he was also around for the Shallow Grave generation when we grew up and discovered that adult life wasn't quite so idyllic as may have been promised...

I feel like pieces of my life are leaving.

I loved him. His record albums were a big part of the soundtrack of my life when I was growing up. And, still, as an adult.

I still have all of my vinyl... including his many Christmas albums.

RIP.

Ditto to all that has been said so far. Even though I'm Jewish, I always looked forward to his Christmas shows. Plus, he unleashed the Osmonds into this world. I still enjoy Donny! RIP Mr. Williams.

Andy Williams was a great singer from an era when music was a lot more friendly.

A high spot for me on tv in the UK when I was in my early teens was The Andy Williams Show - it was the best thing around. The sketches with the bear were classic. An apt favourite song of his ... "Can't Get Used To Losing You."

He definitely will be missed. I was so sad to hear the news on my car radio this morning. I too grew up with his show and Christmas specials.

Thanks to those who posted Youtube links. Here's another which I don't think anyone's posted yet:

You definitely crossed it in style, Mr. Williams. Rest in peace. Thanks for all your years of entertaining us in your own impeccable and easy-going way.

RIP, indeed. And I'm ashamed to admit, the only recording by him I own is a 12" single of his disco re-recording of Love Story http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyUn0EXNN64
