METHTACULAR! (written and performed by Steven Strafford, directed by Adam Fitzgerald) is Strafford’s hilarious and harrowing account of his three year run as a crystal meth addict in Chicago. As Steven weaves together stories, songs and Facts of Life references, audiences will laugh their way you down into the depths of a drug addled, sex crazed life. Methtacular! is a roller coaster ride you won’t soon forget. Music direction by Grammy and two-time Emmy Award winner, John McDaniel.

I'm interested in seeing it. When you are clean, you look back on the times when you weren't and think "well, that was fabulous, awful, amazing, insane, gorgeous, ugly and ultimately, it was a miracle that I survived." I'd like to see that all on stage. I've always thought it would be very compelling.

I saw a reading of it last spring -- it's quite funny, and quite moving. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I am completely and totally biased here. I know Steven well. He is a friend and an actor I've worked with. The director, Adam Fitzgerald, is one of my oldest and dearest friends, and I've worked with his company, kef, on many projects. So...if you want to take this with a grain of salt, feel free.

But...

Go see this show. Go. See. This. Show. I knew of Steven's addiction, but we never really spoke of the specifics. By delving into something so personal and specific to him, he's created a piece of art that is remarkably universal. Even if you've never touched a drug, we all know what it's like to feel less than. To feel that we are not good enough. Sometimes those feelings lead to being proactive in your life. More often, though, they lead to destructive behavior of one kind or another. This piece is very frank, brutal and extremely funny. It's just a beautiful night in a theatre. I cannot recommend it enough.

I just got chills...now I'm definitely going, and would actually like to participate in one of the discussions after the Sunday 5 pm shows.

Well you changed my mind about seeing it.

Sometimes we like to forget about things we did. That's me back in the 80s I came close to being addicted to Quaaludes and Coke. I know the feeling.

It has moments that are difficult...but it has a truly healing message. I recommend it...even if (or maybe especially if) you've battled similar demons in your life.

Robbie, if I were an Eskimo, you could sell me snow.

(I mean that in a good way and, yes, I know we call them Inuits now, but that's not the saying.)

I saw Methtacular last night after reading SonofRobbieJ's admittedly biased review, and WOW- I regret nothing. Steven tells his story with such humor and honestly you can't help but laugh and cringe. Even if you have never done drugs, or struggled with addiction, Methtacular at it's core, is the story of one man who hit rock bottom and rose above after realizing there was "nothing wrong with me."
