Each and every award The Normal Heart won. It was one of the most powerful theatrical experiences I've ever had. (If I'd had my druthers, Joe Mantello would have taken the award-he was amazing as Ned.)
Because he brought me such joy when I saw the show, and that joy was exemplified by his performance on the Tony Awards that year, I would say Michael Jeter for Grand Hotel. I still remember how excited and happy I was that he won.

Julie Harris for best actress in Forty Carats. Ecstacy! If only the Morosco Theatre were still here and still playing Forty Carats! What a wonderful world it would be.
Same Forty Carats that Liz Ullman did as a film?
NEVERMIND, Google, IBDB, IMDB and Wikipedia are my "friends".
**Note to self: No more feeding the trolls.

Easy answer:
Anika Noni Rose - Caroline, or Change
I had just seen her stunning performance 3 nights before the Tony presentation.
It almost helped soften the blow of Tonya's loss.

I was very happy when Mark Hoffman and Greg Kotis won Best Original Score for Urinetown.
I typically respond more to the nominations than the wins. I was over the moon when the leads of Avenue Q got nominated. Same with Scottsboro Boys being up for so many awards.

I was extremely excited when both The Light in the Piazza and South Pacific swept the design categories. Both productions had gorgeous designs.
Avenue Q winning Best Musical.
Piazza winning Orchestrations. And actually, I was over the moon when Billy Elliot and Next to Normal tied for Orchestrations. Both are vastly different but wonderfully crafted. A Tony tie is rare (I wasn't around for Fiorello!/Sound of Music and was not aware of the Tonys when Spider Woman/Tommy tied), so it was thrilling to experience this recent one. And out of all categories, Orchestrations!

I would add Spring Awakening's win for Orchestrations, but that Tony should have been shared with Simon Hale who did the string orchestrations. Without his work, the great band arrangements wouldn't have taken the score to that next level as it is heard today. Then again, I'm quite biased...

Dan Folger. LOVED his speech.
I'm a sucker for emotional acceptance speeches.

Hairspray winning Best Musical in 2003. I was 9 years old jumping up and down in front of the TV. I had received the OBCR months earlier. that was a great year for the Tony's.
Patti LuPone,Laura Benanti and Boyd Gaines for GYPSY. I saw it in March of 2008 and predicted right then that they would all win.

"I know I'm in a minority here, but David Hyde Pierce winning for Curtains."
No, count me in, but then again I won the office pool because absolutely no one but knew he'd win but me. Never a doubt.

Greg Jbara for Billy Elliot! He is such a genuinely sweet person and was always happy to hang out at the stagedoor of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels talking with fans long after everyone else went home.

Another vote for Michael Jeter in Grand Hotel. Watch his performance on that Tony Award show and listen to his acceptance speech and you can't help getting a lump in your throat.
Perhaps it was not a dream.

That's a sweet story. Thanks for sharing.
And thanks to all those who have shared their happy memories. It's been a nice trip down memory lane.

I, too, was happy when Patti, Boyd and Laura won for their work Gypsy.
I love watching Lea Salonga's win.
