I wish I had tried to go to the show today. I need to see something that I enjoy after being so disappointed in GHOST last night. We opted to take naps; only one of us is overly enthusiastic about theater.

Though I dislike The Raul, as a performer (and person), I have to have some sympathy for him regarding LOF. The man has given his all for this show for about 6 years. This was the show that was finally gonna win him his TONY. This was His show. Even in Ashford's ill-concieved production he was praised. What went wrong? No writer or directoe was able to make this work. Mr. E. will work again, he always does. But when will he find a project built around him as this was. When I read Brantley's comments I was kinda shocked, (I agrred with him, but I never thought I would see it in print). This biz is tough, but somehow what should have been a high point is now perhaps his lowest.
In comparison to Ghost, Leap of Faith, Lysistrata Jones.... Bonnie and Clyde is looks better and better. Good story. Good music. Good sense of time and place.....Too bad it didn't open later in the season.... Maybe by comparison, the reviews would have been better.
Leap of Faith wasn't awful. It was enjoyable enough. At least it didn't take an iconic movie and make it worse.
Show biz is a cruel mistress.
I did have to laugh at the end of Gentlemen prefer Blondes when Mr. Gage's father is miraculously cured from the wheel chair by Lorelei Lee!!!!!!
And I do wish the wonderful ensembles of Leap of Faith, Bonnie and Clyde has a much longer run than they did.
