Great review..your experience trying to find a ticket at the theatre once again proves the sad fact that the "front of house manager" is long gone. Once upon a time the show started when you entered the theatre with a warm welcome from a team who made your visit first class. Nowadays everyone is a customer service manager and couldn't give a flying duck what happens..warm white wine in plastic cups and no bog roll in the toilets. If you have a double booked seat you have to fight it out yourself. This is the experience pretty much all around the UK. I had many years touring as a company manager and there were certain venues that were a joy to visit. Run with military precision and someone at the helm front of house who really cared and looked after their audience. Happy times.
A super review-it almost makes me want to see it!But as I dislike Roald Dahl;don't care for Tim Minchin's music;and work in a school I cannot get excited about it!Perhaps when prices drop or it's less busy in a year or so.
I'm equally appalled at how you were treated! I'll never understand how people in service voluntarily drive potential customers away. I didn't realize that they chose only one of the Matildas to be on the cast recording! That's kind of sad!
