The Broadway openings of 'Leap Of Faith' and 'Don't Dress For Dinner' last night were the final openings of the 2011/12 Tony award season. The cut off date for production was last night, April 26th.
The usual, annual , mad rush of producers getting their productions on stage in the last, final weeks, saw some good, some ugly and true some horror stories unfold in front of record breaking audiences.
Now, as we wait to see which ones will run away with the all important awards that will keep their curtains up, we also await the fast closings that will see a major number closed a long time before awards night in June.
It'll be interesting to see the Tony nominations, I think it's going to be between Once and Newsies for most awards although Nice Work seems to be picking a lot of nominations at other awards although not Matthew Broderick.
