The winner of four Tony Awards in 2000, this production with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice is based on one of the grandest operas of all time. It is the timeless story of an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier. Their love is forbidden, but their devotion to each other ultimately triumphs over adversity and cultural differences. Performances are scheduled for August 10 - 26, 2012 at the Keeton Theatre.

Audition Times:
Sunday, May 20, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Monday, May 21, 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Callbacks Tuesday, May 22, 6:30 p.m.

Read-through for the cast Thursday, May 24, 6:30 p.m.

Audition and Rehearsal Location:
Madison Square Shopping Center, 801 N. Gallatin Pike in Madison
between Due West Ave. and Old Hickory Blvd on the back side of the center.

Open Auditions:
Please prepare 16 bars of a pop song with an interesting melody (no songs from Aida). Cold readings from the script. Headshots and resumes welcome but not required. Piano accompaniment and CD player provided. Actors will learn choreographed dance routines. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
Cast:
Casting male and female featured roles and ensemble roles for ages high school and above. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Performances are August 10 - 26, 2012, at the Keeton Theatre on 108 Donelson Pike.

Rehearsals will be held in Madison in Circle Players' rehearsal space in the back of the Madison Square Shopping Center on Gallatin Pike.
