When I was watching the show I thought that the writers were smart in season 1 not to have Regina hate Snow White because she was jealous of beauty, like in the fairy tale, because then she'd have green skin like Zelena. However, I think their powers are completely different. Overall I found it to be a very creative and interesting episode.

i thought it was an interesting take on how she became green.. i feel like they don't really want us to be sympathetic at all with Zelena.. because almost immediately she was just an angry whiny brat... sure her dad was an ass... but i felt that stuff was just really glossed over...

i just really like how she's collecting the three items to kinda reverse time... like some have said, maybe Snow's baby is going to be the one that takes her place or whatever in the past... and if you watched Wonderland, maybe she should've hooked up with Jafar because that was basically his plan!

Couple thoughts:

1. I definitely think Snow's baby is part of the spell

2. I'm wondering if Rumple is Zelina's father. We know that Cora and Rumple had a relationship and Zelina's power came more naturally than Regina's. Having two magical parents could explain this.

3. If Michael Socha is joining the cast does that mean Emma Rigby is coming along as well. I wouldn't be surprised if we found out she's Anastasia Tremaine.

Interesting that Regina noted to Charming, "she already took your Courage, and she wanted my Heart...those are ingredients." As the episode closed, didn't she say something about obtaining Rumple's Brain? The ingredients are the three individual elements of the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion in "Wizard of Oz." Wonder what the spell is to obtain, other than to "destroy Regina." Will there be something to represent Dorothy, too, or...? Wonder what the end-game is, here.

I was hoping that the Wizard would turn out to be someone more interesting than Walsh.

I enjoyed the episode, despite how on the nose a lot of the writing is- the Witch was green with envy, Robin Hood literally has Regina's heart, etc. I actually enjoyed the camp, too. The Munchkin/Wizard joke and the Miata line made me giggle.

Have the writers or creators talked about how this story fits in with the Oz stories from the Baum novels? Did the events of the last episode happen before Dorothy? Since Regina is the Witch's sister, does that make her the Wicked Witch of the East (and give us a clue to her ultimate fate?), or does Zelena have another sister we haven't heard about yet?

Even though the timing of it all would not make a lot of sense, I was crossing my fingers that the Wizard would be The Mad Hatter.

A lot of it is because of his appearance in the new Captain America, but I miss Sebastian Stan as Jefferson/Mad Hatter.

Sebastian Stan is probably one of my top characters on the show that I wish could be back on... damn his success in movies! him and the sheriff! lol

Nevermind, it's Charles Mesure as Blackbeard. I've been a Mesure fan for a long time and look forward to seeing him on the show.

I babysat a friend's 11 and 12 year old girls last week. They delightedly watched a few eps of this -- their favorite show -- before bed. I'm... surprised that there are adults who watch this program regularly, though.

I can see Emma just grabbing him (episode 21 or 22 obviously), Hook telling her she just lost her magic, Emma showing him she didn't and voila! True Love!

What Zelena did was very deceitful. Everyone was so glad to see Ariel back in Storybrooke, but she was never there. At least Ariel and Eric got a happy ending.
